I am a junior mentor of Pinkalicous Love which is under the umbrella of the Annie Fay Owens Foundation. During my senior year, I went through a very stressful period and was out of school for four months due to health issues. Mrs. Smith offered me so much support and help and included me all the events so that I could have something to look forward to while I was on leave from school, being a part of this program I was able to mentor young girls and teach them what I learned growing up.

I am the oldest of five; my mom is a single parent. This is my senior year and I was worried about graduation and graduation fees. I already know my mom couldn’t afford to pay for my senior's fees. I had already put in my mind I wouldn't be able to participant because my mom can’t afford it. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Owens asks about my graduation and I said I wasn’t going to participant because my mom didn’t have the money for my fees. Both ladies look at each other and said, don’t worry about your fees; we will cover your fees. I just look at both of them and started crying.  I just thank God for the Annie Fay Owens Foundation.
